Vintage Apple Macintosh M2644 40SC Zero Footprint 40MB SCSI Hard Disk Drive! OK

It's vintage disk drive week! Please see my other listings for many and varied types of disk drives, some quite rare or unusual. The xxSC series were Apple's second external hard drives for Macintosh computers. They came in four sizes: 20MB, 40MB, 80MB, and 160MB.

All are "zero footprint" designs, which fit exactly under compact Macs such as the Mac Plus, SE, and SE/30 (see photo 2). This particular drive is the 40MB version, serial number CK034067M2644. It's a SCSI drive (like all the other xxSC drives).

It has been reformatted and tested. I did a complete clean install of System 6.0.8 for all Macs on the drive, along with Tetris, Apple Personal Diagnostics, and software to allow your Mac's date to be set later than 12/31/2019 (very useful). The drive is otherwise empty, with about 37MB free for your stuff. If you've got a vintage compact Mac with SCSI this drive is a good match. It's especially useful for a Mac Plus, which has no internal hard drive. I have been collecting and restoring vintage computers for a long time.
