Vintage HP SX-W C5259TM External SCSI Hard Drive Storage Tower

I simply have too much stuff so it's time to pass it on to a new home. Vintage HP SX-W C5259TM External SCSI Hard Drive Storage Tower. What you see is what you get.

It has been powered up and it powers 7 drives fine. This is a fast-wide differential device and I don't have any HVD drives to test the internal SCSI cable. Includes SCSI ID cables for all 7 slots that can be set by DIP switches on the top of the array.

It has been blown out and cleaned. It was painted black when I got it so it has been stripped, sanded, and painted a more original tan again. Drive trays have not been painted. They are the original color from the factory.

It isn't perfect, but it is also well over 20 years old. When I used it, I had a U320 rated cable installed in it. Four of the bays have a removable disk tray in them so you could mount a CDROM/DVD or a tape drive if you wanted to run single ended devices off the U320 cable. It is a single bus so you can't mix and match different types of SCSI drives. It's all HVD or all LVD.

LVD and SE can be on the same bus, but all of the devices will drop to the lowest speed available. I will include an external HVD terminator and cable (not shown) for hooking it up to your HP-UX or other server/workstation. Has a 120mm fan inside the power supply that helps cool it.
