Rare Vintage External SCSI Hard Drive 1.7Gb from 1991 Maxtor Panther P1-17S. In 1991, I started college studying computer science. In 1992 I bought my first hard drive for the Zenith IBM XT clone I'd slowly built up from second hand bits. It was 20Mb and transformed everything I did with that computer. Today I learned that Maxtor were making drives with 1,700Mb capacity back then, amazing stuff.

This very rare item came from a job lot, therefore I do not know its history, it could be packed with data like a time capsule, I've not powered it on but have removed a lot of dust from inside.
